USING QUOOX TO OPERATE YOUR BUSINESS DURING COVID-19

Phase 3 – Reliable Treatment

Whilst presently somewhat vague, it looks like phase-3 may see the allowance of a handful of gym and studio activities. Outdoor group sizes may be increased, but indoor group sizes are likely to remain heavily restricted – and with other rules in place.

There is presently much scepticism about what phase-3 shall comprise for the fitness and well-being industry. Let’s assume (for the time-being) that there will be some sort of permissible activity for gyms and studios at some point during this phase. However, pending the emergence of actual facts, we need to be realistic about the form this will potentially take.

The British press has alluded that there might be a phase-4 for our industry. Whilst the government hasn’t mentioned this (at the time of writing), the press was correct on their other predictions for the relaxation of lockdown. Let’s therefore work on the basis that phase-4 will be when “larger groups” are permitted to train together, and we’ll therefore derive that phase-3 will be related to indoor one-to-one training and hopefully (at the very least) small-group training.

There are likely going to be more stringent rules in relation to cleanliness, and record keeping. It will be important that you, as owner, both know that i) your team have cleaned your facility and ii) that you can provide evidence of such.  Similarly, recording attendance is going to be another important aspect.  If someone at your facility does fall ill with Coronavirus, you will need to be able to quickly access who attended the same sessions as them and therefore might also be at risk.

Rather than having to cobble together yet more spreadsheets, you can use the in-built scheduled To-do Tasks and Incident Log to record that cleaning has been performed, and by whom. Using the self check-in kiosk might not be a sensible move (due to people touching the same screen), but the feature-rich Quoox Roll-Call function comes to your rescue.

Working on the assumption that you can train one-on-one and in small groups at this stage, you also still need to be able to take care of those who i) can’t afford the lower-ratio groups; or ii) are potentially still nervous to return to training after the pandemic. Remember, many people have anxieties that have been exacerbated by this pandemic.

Whilst not exhaustive, some of the functional areas of Quoox you will want to be using at this time include:

  • Use Roll-Call to record member attendance, as well as staying on top of your member’s individual requirements; injuries; and mental well-being. Only use the Quoox self check-in kiosk if it is compliant with government or local authority guidelines.
  • You can use scheduled To-Do tasks to issue and stay on top of cleaning rotas. These will help you provide evidence that cleaning has been completed.
  • Use the Quoox Incident Log (linked to members, where appropriate) to record any incidents. These are all time-stamped, and are a strong evidential record.
  • Being particularly mindful of your member’s well-being. Returning to your facility after some time, especially with so much mis-information about the risks, will be an anxious time for many. Why not share your cleaning regimes and processes with your members via the Quoox app? Your members will be re-assured by your transparency.
  • Whilst your focus will naturally return to those attending your facility, do not neglect those who remain away – either by choice, or by stipulation. You should continue to provide on-demand training on an ongoing basis, and should also continue live sessions at least until your members are all allowed to recommence training.
  • Don’t let up on communication. You will have hopefully set a strong precedent during phases 1 and 2, and any let up in this will feel like a degradation in service to your members. Use scheduled messages and XRcize Programs to help you nurture your members back to return.
  • Continue to provide supportive and distractionary content for your members. If you’ve been providing recipes and other collateral, continue to do so. Don’t forget, Quoox regularly releases collateral for your use, and branded as your own. If it fits your business, why not send it out?
  • Use Social Share to share with your members, their enjoyment and being able to return to training. In turn, encourage them to post these onto social media, and thus share with the broader community that you are back in business and absolutely killing it!
  • Buddies provides an easy way for members who like training together, to attend the same sessions. Get people at your gym to buddy-up!
  • Don’t neglect your “member drop-off’s”.  Keep an eye on the dashboard widget and make sure you show anyone starting to slide the love they need.
